Abstract:We introduce Seed-Music, a suite of music generation systems capable of producing high-quality music with fine-grained style control. Our unified framework leverages both auto-regressive language modeling and diffusion approaches to support two key music creation workflows: \textit{controlled music generation} and \textit{post-production editing}. For controlled music generation, our system enables vocal music generation with performance controls from multi-modal inputs, including style descriptions, audio references, musical scores, and voice prompts. For post-production editing, it offers interactive tools for editing lyrics and vocal melodies directly in the generated audio. Abstract:Multi-modality magnetic resonance imaging data with various sequences facilitate the early diagnosis, tumor segmentation, and disease staging in the management of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). The lack of publicly available, comprehensive datasets limits advancements in diagnosis, treatment planning, and the development of machine learning algorithms for NPC. Addressing this critical need, we introduce the first comprehensive NPC MRI dataset, encompassing MR axial imaging of 277 primary NPC patients. This dataset includes T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and contrast-enhanced T1-weighted sequences, totaling 831 scans. In addition to the corresponding clinical data, manually annotated and labeled segmentations by experienced radiologists offer high-quality data resources from untreated primary NPC.
Abstract:Visual sensing of environmental geometry allows robots to use artificial potential fields to avoid sparse obstacles. Yet robots must further traverse cluttered large obstacles for applications like search and rescue through rubble and planetary exploration across Martain rocks. Recent studies discovered that to traverse cluttered large obstacles, multi-legged insects and insect-inspired robots make strenuous transitions across locomotor modes with major changes in body orientation. When viewed on a potential energy landscape resulting from locomotor-obstacle physical interaction, these are barrier-crossing transitions across landscape basins. This potential energy landscape approach may provide a modeling framework for cluttered large obstacle traversal. Here, we take the next step toward this vision by testing whether force sensing allows the reconstruction of the potential energy landscape. We developed a cockroach-inspired, minimalistic robot capable of sensing obstacle contact forces and torques around its body as it propelled forward against a pair of cluttered grass-like beam obstacles. We performed measurements over many traverses with systematically varied body orientations. Despite the forces and torques not being fully conservative, they well-matched the potential energy landscape gradients and the landscape reconstructed from them well-matched ground truth. In addition, inspired by cockroach observations, we found that robot head oscillation during traversal further improved the accuracies of force sensing and landscape reconstruction. We still need to study how to reconstruct landscape during a single traverse, as in applications, robots have little chance to use multiple traverses to sample the environment systematically and how to find landscape saddles for least-effort transitions to traverse.
Abstract:In recent years, the number of online services has grown rapidly, invoke the required services through the cloud platform has become the primary trend. How to help users choose and recommend high-quality services among huge amounts of unused services has become a hot issue in research. Among the existing QoS prediction methods, the collaborative filtering(CF) method can only learn low-dimensional linear characteristics, and its effect is limited by sparse data. Although existing deep learning methods could capture high-dimensional nonlinear features better, most of them only use the single feature of identity, and the problem of network deepening gradient disappearance is serious, so the effect of QoS prediction is unsatisfactory. To address these problems, we propose an advanced probability distribution and location-aware ResNet approach for QoS Prediction(PLRes). This approach considers the historical invocations probability distribution and location characteristics of users and services, and first use the ResNet in QoS prediction to reuses the features, which alleviates the problems of gradient disappearance and model degradation. A series of experiments are conducted on a real-world web service dataset WS-DREAM. The results indicate that PLRes model is effective for QoS prediction and at the density of 5%-30%, which means the data is sparse, it significantly outperforms a state-of-the-art approach LDCF by 12.35%-15.37% in terms of MAE.
Abstract:Singing voice conversion (SVC) aims to convert the voice of one singer to that of other singers while keeping the singing content and melody. On top of recent voice conversion works, we propose a novel model to steadily convert songs while keeping their naturalness and intonation. We build an end-to-end architecture, taking phonetic posteriorgrams (PPGs) as inputs and generating mel spectrograms. Specifically, we implement two separate encoders: one encodes PPGs as content, and the other compresses mel spectrograms to supply acoustic and musical information. To improve the performance on timbre and melody, an adversarial singer confusion module and a mel-regressive representation learning module are designed for the model. Objective and subjective experiments are conducted on our private Chinese singing corpus. Comparing with the baselines, our methods can significantly improve the conversion performance in terms of naturalness, melody, and voice similarity. Moreover, our PPG-based method is proved to be robust for noisy sources.
Abstract:Deep learning is a research hot topic in the field of machine learning. Real-value neural networks (Real NNs), especially deep real networks (DRNs), have been widely used in many research fields. In recent years, the deep complex networks (DCNs) and the deep quaternion networks (DQNs) have attracted more and more attentions. The octonion algebra, which is an extension of complex algebra and quaternion algebra, can provide more efficient and compact expression. This paper constructs a general framework of deep octonion networks (DONs) and provides the main building blocks of DONs such as octonion convolution, octonion batch normalization and octonion weight initialization; DONs are then used in image classification tasks for CIFAR-10 and CIFAR-100 data sets. Compared with the DRNs, the DCNs, and the DQNs, the proposed DONs have better convergence and higher classification accuracy. The success of DONs is also explained by multi-task learning.
