TravelEval: A Comprehensive Benchmarking Framework for Evaluating LLM-Powered Travel Planning Agents

The development of Large Language Models (LLMs) has significantly improved travel planning applications, yet evaluating such models is limited by existing benchmarks' limitations: 1) overemphasis on constraint compliance, neglecting multi-dimensional qualities like spatio-temporal cost; 2) datasets lacking real-world authenticity and coverage in key areas (e.g., lodging, transport); and 3) isolated daily plan assessments that miss critical details (e.g., the impact of daily accommodation and visit pacing) needed for entire plan's evaluation. To address this gap, we introduce TravelEval, a realistic and comprehensive benchmark. TravelEval features 1) a novel six-dimensional evaluation framework to holistically assess plans across accuracy, compliance, temporality, spatiality, economy, and utility dimensions; 2) a highly realistic data sandbox with precise accommodation pricing and authentic intercity transportation data; and 3) a simulation-based global evaluation method that emulates complete travel plans with API-integrated geographic information and fine-grained queuing time. Evaluating 12 mainstream approaches with TravelEval reveals several valuable insights, such that LLMs struggle with globally-optimized multi-dimensional planning (especially in spatio-temporal reasoning and budget compliance), and agentic reasoning strategies offer no consistent improvement. Concisely, TravelEval facilitates travel plan evaluation via grounded spatio-temporal emulation and comprehensive metrics, providing a robust foundation for advancing LLM-powered travel planning research and applications.

Semantic Object-level Modeling for Robust Visual Camera Relocalization

Visual relocalization is crucial for autonomous visual localization and navigation of mobile robotics. Due to the improvement of CNN-based object detection algorithm, the robustness of visual relocalization is greatly enhanced especially in viewpoints where classical methods fail. However, ellipsoids (quadrics) generated by axis-aligned object detection may limit the accuracy of the object-level representation and degenerate the performance of visual relocalization system. In this paper, we propose a novel method of automatic object-level voxel modeling for accurate ellipsoidal representations of objects. As for visual relocalization, we design a better pose optimization strategy for camera pose recovery, to fully utilize the projection characteristics of 2D fitted ellipses and the 3D accurate ellipsoids. All of these modules are entirely intergrated into visual SLAM system. Experimental results show that our semantic object-level mapping and object-based visual relocalization methods significantly enhance the performance of visual relocalization in terms of robustness to new viewpoints.

A multispeaker dataset of raw and reconstructed speech production real-time MRI video and 3D volumetric images

Real-time magnetic resonance imaging (RT-MRI) of human speech production is enabling significant advances in speech science, linguistics, bio-inspired speech technology development, and clinical applications. Easy access to RT-MRI is however limited, and comprehensive datasets with broad access are needed to catalyze research across numerous domains. The imaging of the rapidly moving articulators and dynamic airway shaping during speech demands high spatio-temporal resolution and robust reconstruction methods. Further, while reconstructed images have been published, to-date there is no open dataset providing raw multi-coil RT-MRI data from an optimized speech production experimental setup. Such datasets could enable new and improved methods for dynamic image reconstruction, artifact correction, feature extraction, and direct extraction of linguistically-relevant biomarkers. The present dataset offers a unique corpus of 2D sagittal-view RT-MRI videos along with synchronized audio for 75 subjects performing linguistically motivated speech tasks, alongside the corresponding first-ever public domain raw RT-MRI data. The dataset also includes 3D volumetric vocal tract MRI during sustained speech sounds and high-resolution static anatomical T2-weighted upper airway MRI for each subject.
