Abstract:The integration of large language models (LLMs) into supply chain management (SCM) is revolutionizing the industry by improving decision-making, predictive analytics, and operational efficiency. This white paper explores the transformative impact of LLMs on various SCM functions, including demand forecasting, inventory management, supplier relationship management, and logistics optimization. By leveraging advanced data analytics and real-time insights, LLMs enable organizations to optimize resources, reduce costs, and improve responsiveness to market changes. Key findings highlight the benefits of integrating LLMs with emerging technologies such as IoT, blockchain, and robotics, which together create smarter and more autonomous supply chains. Ethical considerations, including bias mitigation and data protection, are taken into account to ensure fair and transparent AI practices. In addition, the paper discusses the need to educate the workforce on how to manage new AI-driven processes and the long-term strategic benefits of adopting LLMs. Strategic recommendations for SCM professionals include investing in high-quality data management, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and aligning LLM initiatives with overall business goals. The findings highlight the potential of LLMs to drive innovation, sustainability, and competitive advantage in the ever-changing supply chain management landscape.
Abstract:Large Language Models (LLMs) have revolutionized the process of customer engagement, campaign optimization, and content generation, in marketing management. In this paper, we explore the transformative potential of LLMs along with the current applications, future directions, and strategic recommendations for marketers. In particular, we focus on LLMs major business drivers such as personalization, real-time-interactive customer insights, and content automation, and how they enable customers and business outcomes. For instance, the ethical aspects of AI with respect to data privacy, transparency, and mitigation of bias are also covered, with the goal of promoting responsible use of the technology through best practices and the use of new technologies businesses can tap into the LLM potential, which help growth and stay one step ahead in the turmoil of digital marketing. This article is designed to give marketers the necessary guidance by using best industry practices to integrate these powerful LLMs into their marketing strategy and innovation without compromising on the ethos of their brand.
Abstract:In this paper, a novel objective evaluation metric for image fusion is presented. Remarkable and attractive points of the proposed metric are that it has no parameter, the result is probability in the range of [0, 1] and it is free from illumination dependence. This metric is easy to implement and the result is computed in four steps: (1) Smoothing the images using Gaussian filter. (2) Transforming images to a vector field using Del operator. (3) Computing the normal distribution function ({\mu},{\sigma}) for each corresponding pixel, and converting to the standard normal distribution function. (4) Computing the probability of being well-behaved fusion method as the result. To judge the quality of the proposed metric, it is compared to thirteen well-known non-reference objective evaluation metrics, where eight fusion methods are employed on seven experiments of multimodal medical images. The experimental results and statistical comparisons show that in contrast to the previously objective evaluation metrics the proposed one performs better in terms of both agreeing with human visual perception and evaluating fusion methods that are not performed at the same level.
Abstract:Facial Action Coding System consists of 44 action units (AUs) and more than 7000 combinations. Hidden Markov models (HMMs) classifier has been used successfully to recognize facial action units (AUs) and expressions due to its ability to deal with AU dynamics. However, a separate HMM is necessary for each single AU and each AU combination. Since combinations of AU numbering in thousands, a more efficient method will be needed. In this paper an accurate real-time sequence-based system for representation and recognition of facial AUs is presented. Our system has the following characteristics: 1) employing a mixture of HMMs and neural network, we develop a novel accurate classifier, which can deal with AU dynamics, recognize subtle changes, and it is also robust to intensity variations, 2) although we use an HMM for each single AU only, by employing a neural network we can recognize each single and combination AU, and 3) using both geometric and appearance-based features, and applying efficient dimension reduction techniques, our system is robust to illumination changes and it can represent the temporal information involved in formation of the facial expressions. Extensive experiments on Cohn-Kanade database show the superiority of the proposed method, in comparison with other classifiers. Keywords: classifier design and evaluation, data fusion, facial action units (AUs), hidden Markov models (HMMs), neural network (NN).
Abstract:In this paper an accurate real-time sequence-based system for representation, recognition, interpretation, and analysis of the facial action units (AUs) and expressions is presented. Our system has the following characteristics: 1) employing adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference systems (ANFIS) and temporal information, we developed a classification scheme based on neuro-fuzzy modeling of the AU intensity, which is robust to intensity variations, 2) using both geometric and appearance-based features, and applying efficient dimension reduction techniques, our system is robust to illumination changes and it can represent the subtle changes as well as temporal information involved in formation of the facial expressions, and 3) by continuous values of intensity and employing top-down hierarchical rule-based classifiers, we can develop accurate human-interpretable AU-to-expression converters. Extensive experiments on Cohn-Kanade database show the superiority of the proposed method, in comparison with support vector machines, hidden Markov models, and neural network classifiers.
